Renaissance means ‘rebirth’, is the time period of
change. It was the closing of the middle ages and the rise of the modern world,
which was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman arts. The idea of the
renaissance was created because people started to drift away from the idea of
religion and questioned human kind’s relationship with God. There was also a
development of the humanist, who believed that each individual had a significance
within the society. This movement led to a huge change within the field of arts
and sciences. The poetry from this time period was greatly influenced by love,
arts and literature. During this time period the concept of marriage has
started to evolve. People wouldn’t just marry for money, but for the love they
would have for their significant other. Love in this time period had a great
influence on the poetry that was written. Renaissance was a major turning point
in human history as well as modern literature.
